The Most Versatile Commercial Vehicle

When versatility is needed, a tank truck will meet the requirements. Tank trucks are designed in a multitude of configurations. From the ever popular liquid hauler to the more industry specific pumper or vacuum truck-the tanker truck can be designed to meet industry specific needs.
When deciding which design to model your tank truck after, it is important to take a serious look into your specific industry. If you own a dairy farm and require to move your milk product to a facility, then a simple liquid hauler will suit your needs.
The basic liquid hauling tank truck may come in a variety of sizes to choose from. They may range from as small as 500 gallons to the spacious 6,500 gallon tank trailer size. However, the larger the capacity, the closer you have to monitor the overall weight of your vehicle. Different liquids weigh different weights per gallon. Keep this in mind when choosing your tank truck capacity so you will not be burdened with overweight fees while transporting your product. Another decision that will need to be made is whether or not you require your tank truck to load and unload itself or will require an outside piece of equipment to perform those tasks for you. A basic liquid hauling tank truck will not have a pump on it to provide those options.
Another design is the pumper truck. These tank trucks have a power-take-off (PTO) supplied power pump attached to the frame of the truck. It is useful for industries that require low flow pumping of liquid products. These designs are commonly seen in the sewage pumping and plumbing industry. The pumps that are used on these models are fairly simple pumps that require little maintenance and are very easy to operate. The low suction volume they produce also make these pumps safer for the operator and any helpers that may be using the end of the hose. While these designs have the added benefit of loading the liquid themselves, the pump cannot pull the load out of the tank. They normally have an unloading hatch at the back that may be opened to unload the liquid. There is no control during the unloading process.
The vacuum truck design is considered the most versatile of all tank trucks. The high flow vacuum pump that’s attached can load and unload the liquid quickly and efficiently with no outside equipment required.
